Chief Wilfred King and KZA GBFN Council hosted a community consultation event to review existing federal and provincial laws, policies, and programs for alignment with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). The in–person event was facilitated by Sandi Boucher and took place on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, in Thunder Bay at the Valhalla Inn. Refreshments and lunch was provided. During the event, KZA Citizens provided firsthand information about their experiences with federal and provincial programs, such as policing, child welfare, education, and housing. All voices were heard and encouraged to participate in the positive and productive meeting.
